MiNK is a warm organisation made up of enthusiastic people. The main driver for the formation and continued growth of the company is a desire to make a real difference in the world. Here at MiNK we strongly believe that life is a special gift and we strive to make the most of it. MiNK believes in empowering people of colour, helping them to build up their self-esteem and making them and the rest of the world see just how beautiful they are.

We have a charity arm that supports disadvantaged women and young people, particularly young girls, in both our local and global communities.

One of the ways we are able to support women and young girls is through the production of life changing events and experiences, designed to encourage and empower them. The events aim to develop self-confidence and self-worth in place of dependency and complacency.

MiNK organises:

• networking events
• mentoring and coaching programs
• educational seminars
• national and international charity events and fundraisers

We believe that giving people self-confidence is the most important thing that the company can do, because then they will act. This applies to staff that work at MiNK, our makeup artists and anybody that comes into contact with the organisation. 

Last but definitely not least, we seek to redistribute some of the wealth the business creates to those people that need it the most. We do this by donating 10% of our profits each year to charity. 

In 2012 MiNK's charity of choice is SOS Children's Villages, the world’s largest orphan and abandoned children’s charity. SOS Children has villages and community projects all around the world, helping some of the world’s most vulnerable children.

In a nutshell, SOS Children

• works in 124 countries around the world
• runs 508 SOS Children’s Villages and 396 Youth Homes
• cares for more than 78,000 children
• provides over 100,000 children with an education in its nurseries, primary and secondary schools
• supports more than 1 million vulnerable children and their families through medical centres, social centres, vocational training schemes and emergency relief efforts
