Conceived in the summer of 2005 by accomplished makeup artist Funmi Odegbami, MINK has grown into a successful makeup business.

Having worked and trained with some of the most prestigious names in the world of makeup and beauty, Funmi established herself as a major player in the field. Her impressive portfolio includes work on the catwalk, editorial, TV, music videos, events, celebrities and more.  Funmi has developed a unique ability to improve, enhance and alter appearances with a set of clandestine makeup tools and techniques.  Her creative sense is phenomenal; her technique is impeccable; and her ability to translate this into easy to follow step by step guides is amazing.

The growing demand for Funmi's makeup services resulted in the creation of a professional team of makeup artists and the establishment of the international makeup school in London.

After a number of years in the business, Funmi identified a gap between the makeup services provided to white women and those provided to black women. Funmi has worked with very well known makeup artists, that have struggled to work on women of colour, she's been on courses that have failed to address the unique makeup requirements for black women and assisted makeup artists who often did not have the right makeup shades for darker skin tones.

This, coupled with the fact that we have been conditioned as a global society to believe that the lighter you are the better and more attractive you are; led to the decision that MINK would lead the way in makeup education and services for people of colour. We are focused on educated women of colour and giving them the right tools and techniques for improving their appearance, their self esteem and their lives. MINK believes that every women could gain confidence in her appearance if she understood how to apply her make-up, what products to use, and where to go to get the correct information e.g. where to go to find the right colours that work for her and where to go to learn basic make-up application techniques.

MINK is now a reputable makeup artist training facility where students are immersed in the fundamentals of make-up artistry for the entertainment, fashion, bridal and retail cosmetics industries and a popular makeup agency for companies and individuals who require the highest standards of makeup application.

The MINK vision is to be the leading provider of makeup and beauty education, services and products for people of colour the world over and the company aims to achieve this by developing excellent makeup courses, makeup artists and makeup events; and continuously exceeding customer expectations.
