Makeup Trends 2011

Thick Brows

It's official: brows are back! Big brows are the must-have accessory to any make up look this season. Need a bit of help in the brow department? Grab yourself a brow pencil to take your look from barely there to thick and full in seconds – it's guaranteed to be your autumn/winter beauty staple. Plus fuller eyebrows give a more youthful appearance.

Luscious Eye Lashes

The beauty world has exploded with lash fever. Whether you prefer the versatility of strip eyelashes or long wearing lash extensions that are fused to your existing lashes, or use of lash enhancing products like RevitaLash, no girl should be without longer fuller lashes. Work the false lash look with a dramatic cat eye using black eyeliner or eyeshadow. Its quick and easy to do and very wearable.

Smoky Eyes

Smoky eyes are always in vogue. Sporting a smoky eye look will add a touch of glamour, femininity and sexiness to your style personality. A smoky eye look can be created using any colour and you can choose whether you want the look to be bold or subtle. Work the smoky eye look with nude lip shades to balance out the colour on your face.

Red Lip

No girl should be without a shade of red on their lips this season. Red was a super trend on the catwalks and it was a key colour for lips too. Not only is it different, it also fits the atmosphere of the classroom and workplace. If red is not for you, you can also opt for dark plum, or bright orange.

But please remember to keep your lips super hydrated. Add a clear high-shine gloss over the top of your lipstick for added punch. Smile, you look amazing!

Fake Freckles

Fake freckles? Yes you heard it here first. Now it’s all about grabbing your brown eyeliner pencil and drawing on a few, subtle fake freckles, thanks to Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman. Would you give it a go, or do you think it’s best left on the runway? Work this look with the "no makeup, makeup" look.

No Makeup Makeup Look

The key to achieving this look is to create a flawless, glowy, dewy and highlighted complexion. It is all about creating that perfect base. Step back from the blusher because this look is all about using bronzers (or darker shades of foundation) to contour the face. Keep everything else simple and understated – lips are natural and eyes are accentuated with just a hint of brown liner.

Traditional Nails

Traditional nail colours are back this autumn. Go for deep and bold nail colours to add a touch of elegance to your look.
