Course: Beginners Makeup Certificate

Days: Mon - Fri
Time: 10am - 4pm 

Course Syllabus

Required Reading:

Prior to the start of the course students need to have read the Getting Started section of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit. You will need this information to be able to participate in the class and to get the most out of the course. Please be advised that you can order a printed copy of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit for £29. 

COURSE OUTLINE & HOMEWORK

LESSON ONE

• Getting Started
• Makeup Kit
• Skin and skincare
• Choosing and applying foundation

Homework: 

• Re-create a natural makeup look on a face chart
• Read and Mastering Faces section of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit and complete section 2 of the online course

LESSON TWO

• Classic beauty/Natural makeup
• Highlighting and contouring

Homework: 

• Create a makeup look for black and white photograph concentrating on using dramatic contouring techniques on a face chart
• Read Mastering Eyes section of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit and complete section 3 of the online course

LESSON THREE

• Mastering Eyes
• Glamour makeup
• Applying false eyelashes

Homework:

• Create a mood board of makeup looks you have seen online, in magazines, etc. 
• Read Mastering Lips & Designing Makeup Looks sections of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit and complete section 4 and 5 of the online course

LESSON FOUR

• Mastering lips
• Applying individual lashes

Homework:

• Design a makeup look on a face chart (that you will recreate on the final day of the course using all the skills that you have learnt on the course)
• Read Putting It All Together section of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit and complete section 6 of the online course

LESSON FIVE

• Student assessment
• The business of makeup
• Useful resources

Homework:

• Read The Business of Makeup and After Care and Useful information sections of the Beginners makeup certificate toolkit and complete sections 7 and 8 of the online course
• Complete online Self Assessment

Pass Mark

Students need to score an overall grade of 70% or more to qualify for the BABTAC Accreditated certificate.
